Natural Capital Exchange offers a solution to global warming

The folks at NCX have developed an innovative yet impactful carbon offset program, committing landowners to achieving carbon neutrality.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Now is the time to control global warming. Our very survival depends on it.

One of the ways to achieve this is to eliminate net carbon emissions, achieving a balance between the carbon that is emitted into the atmosphere and that which is removed.

The folks at NCX have developed an innovative yet impactful carbon offset program, committing landowners to achieving carbon neutrality.

Lillian Hogan is a Landowner and Forester Success Manager at NCX and she joined us to explain how it works. She said landowners enroll in the program and earn credits for postponing the harvesting of their forests for a year.

They literally get paid to wait to cut down their trees, and this simple action can have a dramatic impact on balancing carbon emissions. Hogan explained how carbon credits work, the climate impacts of the program, and how landowners can get involved.
