“Help reduce our impact on climate change”: learn more about electric vehicles at the Cobourg event

If you want to learn more about electric vehicles, sustainability and the fight against climate change, you can do so at an upcoming event at Northumberland Mall.

The EV Society — Northumberland Chapter and Sustainable Cobourg are hosting the free event focused on electric vehicles and sustainability to be held May 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Northumberland Shopping Center in Cobourg, in the north side parking lot. (between the main aisle/Boston Pizza and LCBO locations.)

“The focus of the event is on how electrification of the transportation system and other sustainable activities can help reduce our impact on climate change,” organizers explained.

About 10 electric vehicles (EVs) will be on display during the event by local owners and dealers, organizers said. Those interested in learning more can speak with owners and dealers.

Four vehicles will also be available for test drives via Plug’n Drive.

Several sustainable organizations will also have exhibits and/or give presentations, including Sustainable Cobourg, PHorests 4 R PHuture, Blue Dot, Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority, Council of Canadians and Lakefront Utilities, for n to name a few.

Organizers said they also invited federal and provincial government officials, in addition to election candidates and municipal officials and politicians.
