“For more than 100 years, humanity has burned fossil fuels to power our factories, heat our homes and power our cars,” she said. “In doing so, we flooded our atmosphere with planet-warming gases… superheating the earth.”

The activist added: “We’ve known for 40 years that this could be disastrous, that it could wreak havoc on our sensitive climate systems, that it could doom us to our future of heat waves, water scarcity and monstrous storms. , but now a new report from the United Nations finds that a bleak future could be just around the corner.

The Bollywood star went on to say that the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Gas Emissions Report 2022 indicated that the world would still face catastrophic climate change even if countries kept their promises to reduce their fossil fuel emissions.

“The kind of warming he envisions would be the death sentence of countless living beings, including many people. While time is running out, we can still avoid that fate,” she said.
