Arts Help receives ‘groundbreaking’ $5 million donation to tackle global climate issues
Arts Help will use the funding to develop programs, provide resources, and mobilize learning opportunities to empower the arts community to create thought-provoking centerpieces that shed light on the pressing environmental issues facing our planet.
Ghoneim explained that the contribution will enable Arts Help to engage its large, active community of artists to encourage companies to lead by example in environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices.
Participating artists will pledge to dedicate their projects to a shared vision that evokes a better future and inspires citizens to take concrete action to address environmental issues.
“As an organization, we are founded on the belief that all art forms, traditional and non-traditional, possess transformative powers that transcend conventional barriers,” Ghoneim said.
Chris Larsenco-founder and executive chairman of the board of directors of San Francisco– based in Ripple, expressed his confidence in Arts Help’s ability to motivate and mobilize talented and imaginative individuals and organizations to tackle the universal challenge of climate change head-on.
“Art has the ability to bring diverse populations together to achieve the common good,” Larsen said. “Climate change is real and it’s time to act. I think Arts Help’s mission-driven programming is a testament to its creativity and effectiveness in addressing pressing global issues.”
This funding will allow artists to access resources for commissioned work, e-learning and publication in global media to strengthen campaign initiatives. Artist nominations and lineup announcements are scheduled for fall 2021.
